ND Focus – Elia’s focus on Project Management / 1-2 December 2016 / Barcelona, Spain

Pre-conference Technology Day

Pre-conference Technology Day

30 November 2016

Where would we be without technology?
Technology plays such an important role to a Project Manager, especially with the number of different ‘hats’ that a PM typically wears: from managing workflows, to creating translation memories to invoicing and more: the list of technology-driven tasks that a PM works on in their everyday life is endless. Plus there are so many different types of tools on the market, each offering a wide range of solutions to support Project Managers in their work.
When we created ND Focus – Elia’s focus on Project Management, the only event dedicated to language industry Project Managers, we knew that technology deserved to have a very strong focus. And that’s why we built this day – so you can preview the leading tools on the market and learn how to leverage technology more extensively, ultimately enabling more effective project management for you and your language company.
We hope you get a lot out of this Pre-conference Technology Day!
This is a special opportunity created especially for attendees of ND Focus – Elia’s focus on Project Management.

The programme will be located in the Sud wing of our event venue, World Trade Center Barcelona.

During the first part of the afternoon, all technology providers will hold demonstrations simultaneously. This will be repeated twice to enable attendees the chance to view a total of two technology solutions.

After the coffee break, the advanced training will take place. Please reserve your space for your preferred tool training by completing the Technology Day registration form. Spaces are limited, and priority will be given to attendees of ND Focus  Elia’s focus on Project Management.

Cocktail and Dinner
To top off the day and to add more excitement to your event experience, Elia has arranged a cocktail and dinner where you can join the Elia Team and ‘fellow’ attendees for a pay-as-you-go evening. We hope to see you there!

Hundreds of translation company owners, project managers and translators were interviewed and asked about their biggest challenges. The solution we created in response was GliderPath™ TMS, a translation management tool created BY and FOR translation and localisation project managers.

Our aim was to create a simple, intuitive tool with almost no learning curve, to help companies save invaluable time by automating the most painful and time-consuming tasks of project, resource and quality management. We ensure that companies stay on top of the quality and profitability of their projects, so they can scale and grow, doing what they do best.

In this workshop, participants will have the opportunity to see how to work and improve productivity with MateCat.

After a brief overview of the translation memory and machine translation engines, you will see how to create a project on MateCat and how to translate and review efficiently, benefiting from more matches than any other CAT tool. You will also see how to use the management panel and how to measure the productivity of translators through the data collected during translation, and finally how to make money with MateCat.

The workshop will conclude with a practical session in which participants can use MateCat in real working conditions, the phase of creating the project revision.
