Culture – a game played by the rules. But whose rules?
As a project manager you are the spider in a very international web. Translators, clients, colleagues: they were probably brought up in a different part of the world than you or, even if they come from the same country, simply have different habits and bring their own cultural baggage with them.
How can you find out what they really mean and what (hidden) message they are trying to convey, especially when they may not be using their native language? And what drives them?
In other words: how can you play the game according to the differing cultural rules? Which game are your stakeholders playing, and are you even playing to begin with?
Indeed, are there any rules at all? And how can you get to identify and master them?
In this presentation you will learn a tool to help you manage the varying expectations, drivers and demands of an intercultural environment as you step into the exciting and, at times, painful game of intercultural project management.
