Françoise Bajon is the co-founder and co-owner of Version internationale (VI), a well-known and respected translation and localisation company located in France. The company is very technology-oriented, but has always placed great value on human talent. She was elected president of Elia in 2011, and has been re-elected ever since. She is also a member of the LIND-web (EU).
As a former teacher, Françoise has interests in education. She initiated and oversees the Elia Exchange programme, which takes a multi-faceted approach to facilitating cooperation between the translation industry and academia with the aim of making translation graduates more employable. She believes bridging the talent gap is key to the success of our industry, and is eager to bring together the different industry stakeholders. This has taken shape in the form of Together, Elia’s conference for freelance translators and language service providers; the first edition was held in Barcelona in February 2016.
Françoise is a strong advocate for creating an event for Project Managers and is an active contributor to ensuring the success of ND Focus – Elia’s focus on Project Management, the industry’s first event dedicated to developing and enhancing these vital skills, to be held in December 2016 in Barcelona, Elia’s traditional location to launch new events.
